Still Going
Nathan Quinn and Dave Green are still competing in the second day of the Red Devil Energy Drink - Rally of QLD after the first 2 stages of this morning.Continuing gearbox problems have the team worried as the problems appear to have worsened.
A 4th and 7th fastest stage times, have the team happy enough but Nathan is struggling to get the Evolution 9 on terms with the Subaru duo of Eli Evans and Brendan Reeves.
The 3 stars are separated by a mere 15 seconds, but the Pirelli Star points have gone to the first 2 stage winners. Quinn and Green are setting 3rds by fractions of a second.
“The gearbox is obviously worse than second hand, so even though I’m pushing and believe my road speed is ok, I am losing all my time off the line. We fell if the gearbox is going to break it will break on the stage start line, so its critical to give away some time there. We just have to hope that the other guys have some bad luck like we did yesterday”
There are 3 stages to go between now and the next service so its nervous times ahead for the Quinn team.
