2010 Myall Stages

It may not be until mid September that Nathan Quinn and his team will know whether they have been selected for Australias first Pirelli Star driver award to be held in Europe this year.
But that does not mean it is all quiet in the camp as Nathan Quinn and his crew are full hands on deck again preparing for this weekends round of the NSW state rally championship to be held in the forests surrounding Bulahdelah on the mid north coast near Newcastle.
Quinn has won the event  twice before and in 2010 it represents another opportunity to compete close to home at high speed, as apart from the Coffs round of the ARC, it is the only other pace noted round on the NSW championship, a long learned skill that is essential for international stardom.
Quinn will lead a thirty plus field into the 120km event on Sunday 22 as a clear favourite in his Australian Championship Evo 9. But although not part of the Australian Championship nor registered for the NSW championship Nathan will approach the event with the same tenacity that has seen his meteoritic rise to stardom.
"We will be trying, we are out to develop speed and until we know about the Pirelli Star I will be doing as much as I can to stay on my game" he said. "This is a fast rally and complacency will end in tears as we nearly found out in 2008, so its go hard or stay home".
After some fantastic times on Sunday at the recent International Rally Queensland the star assures there is no time to relax as the Pirelli Star Global Qualifying Shootout event is meant to be in two months.
"Some people may ask why we are at a state round right now, but the answer is simple" said team manager and dad Martin Quinn. "Sunday at rally QLD was what we have been working on for 3 years. We must maintain that momentum, world pace. Practice does not exist in this sport so this event represents a rare opportunity to run flat out, and for him to continue to learn with no pressure to win. We must keep him on Sundays pace in preparation for the Pirelli star.  I hope they call soon because this is the last event for 3 months."
