Coffs Coast Rally Team International Rally of Queensland

Young local ambassador Nathan Quinn competing in the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship spent the weekend  in his mobile tourism tool drumming up business for Coffs.The Australian round of the Intercontinental tour 2011 International Rally of Queensland was held on Australia’s Sunshine Coast over the past few days.

 

Nathan outperformed and took the limelight from many renowned international drivers like ex-SUBARU WORLD RALLY TEAM driver: Chris Atkinson, Alister McRae, last year’s winner Gurav Gill, multiple British Rally Champion Mark Higgins and a host of Indonesian, Malaysian, Japanese and Chinese drivers and teams.

The Coffs Coast Rally Team secured first place for more than seven stages of the first leg by consistent, committed driving from talented Nathan Quinn. The First leg culminated Saturday evening with a Super Special Stage in Caloundra in front of the worlds Media & a hoard of spectators all cheering for the Aussies.

Coffs Coast Rally Team secured 2nd place outright to start the second leg’s Sunday Forest Stages. Nathan had strategically placed his Coffs Coast Rally Team in the position by manipulating his road speed. Starting behind Alister McRae gave him a swept line to challenge for outright position.Nathan struck a large rock during the 1st stage and suffered what he thought was minor steering issue, later down the road manifested into a split cooling hose and overheating engine.

A decision was made via radio with the team to slow and save the engine from terminal damage. A repair they don’t have the time to undertake as the COFFS COAST RALLY TEAM Mobile marketing tool is to be shipped to New Caledonia this week to be prepare for the Rally of New Caledonia / Round 3 APRC RALLYES DE NOUVELLE CALEDONIE. 17-19th June.
